ART TUESDAYS - FIRST SEMESTER ART GALLERY COMPLIATION
Throughout the whole first semester, this is all of the work that I have put together during Art Tuesdays for all the world to see. This is what we've done:
Some of the artworks were done digitally, as the next few images will show (NOTE: Sorry about the screenshots I took :-), next time I'll have to remove the window interface):
Image 5 - This image made me enter a mind of a raging 'Psychopath' or a deranged mind on a verge of a meltdown (Mental Trauma)
The next two images show the cityscape and the landscape of a circus that we had to do, this is what I (attempted to) achieve:
Cityscape showing an Fictional City with some unrealistic building structures
Landscape of the circus, showing the Regurgitator
Some of the artworks were done digitally, as the next few images will show (NOTE: Sorry about the screenshots I took :-), next time I'll have to remove the window interface):
Cartoon Background, the first two pages of what could be a cartoon...
A Dark Background, showing how cold, depressing and dark it intended to be
On one of the mornings, random music was played. The objective was to visually represent on how we hear that random music, mostly depending on the mood of the music that was played:
Image 1 - Felt lively, bright, feels alive and at the same time, feels a bit 'rushed'
Image 2 - A mix of red, orange and yellow. Has a effect to create a 'Dawn of an new era' Scenario. Something new is about to commence and feels like a certain scenario could 'change the entire world forever'.
Image 3 - Has the feel that the 'Grass is always Greener on the other side of the fence'
Image 4 - The music had a rather an annoyed irritated mind, the colours show this
Image 5 - This image made me enter a mind of a raging 'Psychopath' or a deranged mind on a verge of a meltdown (Mental Trauma)
Image 6 - The song that was played reminded me of somewhere within Outback Australia and for some reason, feels calm and peacefully quiet
Image 7 - Reminded me of where I used to live (live around the North Queensland Coast). Feels Calm and very Lively, the colours used represent this.
Image 8 - Self-explainatory, I felt like I entered the mind of a hyperactive individual
The next few images we had to do was to attempt to make hand-drawn images as photorealistic as possible with just different types of shading, I honestly found these quite challenging. But at least they're done!!!

Concept of Design (Personal Opinions) - 4/6/2008
Greetings user! Now that my CD/DVD Cover is finished, there is more stuff that I need to post to my Den. Today, we're studing designs of the packaging that is used for products in terms of the colour, typography, images, etc. We had to bring three different products that may be used to study the design of the packaging.
PRODUCT 1 - LITE-ON DVD BURNER
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
PRODUCT 2 - SONY PLAYSTATION 2
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
PRODUCT 3 - OLD GOLD DARK CHOCOLATE
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
Honestly, this was all I could think of with these products
PRODUCT 1 - LITE-ON DVD BURNER
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
- The purpose of the design of this box is to hold the DVD Burner
- The colour is pretty much basic, but is bright
- The manufacturer's logo is branded throughout the box on all sides
- The Information on the front of the product shows key information regarding to the functionality of the product, whilst the sides and the back of the product are more technically detailed
- There is a image at the front to tell what the product will look like once out of the box
- The size of the box doesn't provide enough adequate protection on the product. Though, by looking at the back of the product, there are symbols that tell me that it may be fragile and the product must be used in a dry environment
PRODUCT 2 - SONY PLAYSTATION 2
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
- There is not much colour, but the colour used is well suited to the colour of the product, although the colour can be rather dull
- There is not much information on the front of the product, but the icons that appeared on the top left are pretty much self-explainatory, showing what the console is capable of (e.g. DVD Playback, DTS Connectivity, USB, Network, etc.)
- The image of the actual product, can be eye-catching
- The size of the packaging appears to tell me that this product may be fragile (there is a icon that represents that at the back of the packaging)
PRODUCT 3 - OLD GOLD DARK CHOCOLATE
After evaluating the packaging of this product, this is what I found:
- Self-Explainatory, holds Dark Chocolate
- As a self-confessed Dark Chocolate lover, it's pretty eye catching with the image of the product, showing on the front of the packaging, to tell the buyer 'EAT ME NOW!!!'
- There is not much information on the front of the product, just mainly the net weight of the product (there is more information at the back, regarding to nutrition info, ingredients, etc)
- How the colour used on the packaging suits well to what the product is (The use of Red and Black with the image of Dark Chocolate).
Honestly, this was all I could think of with these products
